About Us
Who are we?
We are undergraduate students from the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, University of Malaya, majoring in the English language. We have learnt about the sciences, systems and rules that construct the language we speak and how languages and their varieties differ from many aspects.
We also have learnt how languages are learnt by different people with different needs and cultural backgrounds in order to provide a inclusive and fun way for children to learn a foreign language, including English!

What is our project about?
We aim to create stories that are related to the Jakun culture that are told in English. In this way, we hope that the Jakun children, as our target community, can appreciate and be proud of their heritage, as well as being able to acquire English in an exciting way.
Our participants consist of Year 5 pupils from Sekolah Kebangsaan Runchang, Muadzam Shah, Pahang, who are mostly from the Jakun tribe. We have learnt that they enjoy listening to stories, as well as having problems transitioning to attend school.
Our Objectives

#1 Provide culturally relevant materials
#2 Engage in interactive learning
#3 Support United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals
We want to create stories centred around the Jakun tribe in hopes of invoking the pupils’ pride in their own culture and heritage.
We aim to try a new way of learning to show that English can be fun through digital storytelling and online language learning activities!
Established in 2015, this project would wish to support the United Nation's efforts to achieve
Goal #4 - Quality Education and
Goal #10 - Reduced Inequalities
