Digital Storytelling: Orang Asli Folktale & Inspiring Figure

Event Poster.png

The live storytelling session with Year 5 pupils from SK Runchang was originally scheduled for 27th May 2021. However, schools were closed due to the rising cases of COVID-19, which postponed the session indefinitely, with the hope that all the pupils would return to their school.

Following the circumstances that schools continued to close, a fully virtual digital storytelling session was held on 5th October 2021, extending the invitation to Year 4-6 pupils from other schools, which were SK Simpai, SK Tasek Chini, SJKC Keat Hwa H, Kedah and SK Kubang Kerian 3. All the participants joined remotely from their homes and schools.

Moderating this session was Alif Hakim. He role-plays like a tour guide, who brings the children on an adventure to Pulau Tioman and SK Runchang. The videos were played to the participants, followed by language activities.

On top of that, Puan Nurazima Abdullah, SK Runchang's Senior Assistant was invited to express a few words as the main character in 'Today, I will be Brave'. She appreciates the team, particularly the Inspiring Story Comittee for choosing her as an Orang Asli figure for the inspiration of her pupils and others.

The team would like to extend our gratitude to the following teachers, Puan Hamizah Jaafar (SK Runchang), Madam Chong Wan Lynn (SJKC Keat Hwa H, Kedah), En. Warid Mihat (SK Kubang Kerian 3), together with teachers from SK Simpai and SK Tasik Chini for their help in bringing their pupils to participate in this session. We would also like to thank all participants for enjoying our session and hope they enjoy the stories and activities conducted.
